FIREWORKS
After our home burned down in the "Cedar Fire" October 2003 I have collected and acid washed, cleaned up glass, metal and other 'debris'.   What first brought my attention to what lay within the filthy rubble that was, at one time, my home was a shimmer of glass flashing in the setting sun.   I marveled at its beauty and what you see on the following pages are the results of my 'treasure hunt' for each piece is truly a *treasure* ..... they have twisted and reshaped themselves into beautiful works of art.   From within the fire the molten glass melted and fused with other pieces and the colors and forms created wonderful creations of glass.   I am so thankful I was able to realize what beauty can come from such devastation.

People often ask, "Do you know what this was?"   to which I reply, "No, I don't, I try not to think about what it WAS, I just want to think what it could be. Creating these beautiful things has helped me in the healing proces, by allowing me not to think about the past but about the future.

Now, a little bit about the sculptures.   Most are made from glass, metal, in the debris there was some type of materials that made beautiful, driftwood like pieces.   Many of the sculptures are mounted on pieces of what used to be our retaining wall.   Others are mounted on pure marble, mirror, brass, silver plates   Most pieces are a single piece of glass that warped itself into a beautiful sculpture.   Each piece is coated with a resin, not only to enhance and bring out its beauty, but also to preserve, strengthen and protect from cuts from the materials that make up the sculptures.   Each piece on the following pages is unique and intriguing and you will find nothing like it in the world.   If you are interested in anything shown here, please email me at paisleymaze@rock.com so we can discuss it.   I do hope you enjoy my art.

I am also a painter, I work with polymer clay and I make jewelryand other things that strike my fancy .   To see some of these things, and also some things lost in the fire please go to:
